The independent living program places individuals with high-functioning autism in specially-tailored residential units with one or two other program participants. Coupled with a variety of support initiatives and skills trainings, this helps participants achieve a high degree of autonomy.
Eligibility:
Must have ASD as primary diagnosis.
Must be eligible for Developmental Disability Services (DDS)
Must be willing to sustain a goal of 20 hours or more of weekly productivity in education, paid employment and/or volunteer work.
Must be able to use a smartphone and/or tablet.
Must be able to obtain Food Handlers and First Aid/CPR certifications.
Must maintain safe behavior.
This program helps people who are older than 17 years old.
