Our Mission
The mission of the Oregon Youth Resource Map is to increase equitable access to youth-serving resources by providing clear, transparent, and youth-centered information that supports informed decision-making for young people ages 16 to 25 across Oregon.
Our Values
Youth Leadership and Lived Experience
We believe that systems serving youth are strongest when shaped by those who have navigated them. Youth with lived experience are not consultants on the margins of this work. They are leaders, designers, and decision-makers.
Accessibility and Equity
We prioritize resources that are financially accessible and inclusive. This includes free, low-cost, sliding scale, and publicly funded services, as well as transparency around costs, insurance, and eligibility requirements.
Informed Consent and Transparency
We value informed consent and trust youth to make decisions that are right for them when they have accurate and complete information. Resource descriptions aim to be clear, honest, and free of hidden barriers.
Non-Discrimination and Safety
We do not include organizations that discriminate on the basis of age, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, national origin, or other protected identities. We explicitly exclude any organization that provides or promotes LGBTQ conversion therapy.
Accountability and Responsiveness
We recognize that no system is perfect. Community members are encouraged to flag resources that may not meet our inclusion guidelines so the Map can remain accountable to its stated values.
