DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) is a model that helps clients find a balance between accepting their situation and changing it. The group are skill based, include homework and are designed to reduce negative coping skills such as self-harm, isolation, or aggression and other behaviors.
The groups last 1.5 hours and are for 10 weeks.
Groups consist of three modules: Distress tolerance, Emotion Regulation and Interpersonal Effectiveness Skills. Mindfulness practice is taught as part of each module. Clients are encouraged to take all three modules.
